Using Design Thinking for Arduino projects
Frameworks:
1. Empathize : Observe user(s), engage, watch & listen to them on what needs they have
2. Define & Ideate (research, equipment)
- Define: focus & frame the problem, list criteria to evaluate ideas
- Ideate: generate ideas, brainstorm, mindmap, design and sketch diagrams of prototypes
3. Prototype & Test (create & test)
- Research (technical):
- Prototype (or Create): Build & identify what each prototype is testing
- Test: Show the user - don't tell
- Describe developmental process: data collected, analysis, changes, outcomes
Assessment/Presentation
- Powerpoint slides or Poster A1 size
- Video presentation
- Use recycled material to create casings and structures for prototype
Extensions
- Do market research and compare all properties of commercially available products with your prototype
- Use Maker Uno board - has inbuilt buzzer, LEDs & pushbutton
- OR use Arduino Nano board (much smaller than Arduino Uno)
- Use half breadboard or mini-breadboard
- Use minimum number of wires or flat wires for compact circuits
